Swan Transport Drivers win two awards at Chairman’s Community Awards!
Swan Driver Barbara Merrett has won a well deserved award for her years of dedicated service supporting those in her local community. She also received an engraved Bath Aqua glass plate.
Swan Transport’s dedicated team of volunteer drivers have been rewarded for all the great work they do for their local community at the Chairman’s Community Awards 2016/17!
The award ceremony took place on Thursday 9th February at the Guildhall in Bath and not only did our hard working team of drivers win the ‘Volunteer Team of the Year Award’, but our longest serving driver Barbara Merrett also won the ‘Peter Duppa Miller Lifetime Achievement Award’. Barbara has been driving for Swan since its inception and has only recently retired after many years of service.
Swan's team of volunteer drivers have also received a Bath Aqua glass engraved award, which they very much deserve for their hard work serving those in the Bath and North East Somerset area.
Our dedicated team of drivers support those within the B&NES area who are older, frail or disabled and on a low income, by taking them to things like health appointments or social activities. We receive lots of positive comments all the time about our drivers, including how our clients really appreciate being able to get out and about especially if they find it difficult to use the bus for example.
Councillor Alan Hale of Bath & North East Somerset Council presented the drivers with their awards, and Swan are very grateful to everyone who was involved with organising the Awards, as we had a lovely evening with refreshments laid on for all the many groups and individuals who attended.
